Liposuction and Lipodissolve are two of the several fat reduction treatments at offer at Kosmoderma. Though if we are asked about effectiveness, we will vouch for Coolsculpting any day considering its inherent benefits and almost negligible downtime, yet we do get a lot of queries about Liposuction and Lipodissolve.
The usual queries are around which treatment is better than the other and why. The obvious answer to this seems that since Lipodissolve is a newer and more advanced technique, it will be better but in actuality, there is no clear better between these two.
This blog deals with some of the comparisons made between Liposuction and Lipodissolve while making the choice,
The Surgical/Non-Surgical question
Liposuction is a surgical procedure which requires anesthesia while Lipodissolve is a non-surgical 30 minute procedure.
The non-surgical procedure that Lipodissolve is reduces the overall post procedure downtime as well as the maintenance that would be required afterwards.
How does the functionality differ for the treatments?
For Liposuction, diluted local anesthesia is infused before making an incision. Post this, a thin hollow tube or cannula is inserted through the incision to loosen up the excess fat by controlled back and forth motion. The dislodged fat is then sucked out of the body using vacuum.
Lipodissolve on the other hand involves injecting a specially curated formula at the fat spots to dissolve the cellulite which comes out of the body through the natural excretory processes.
What about Post Procedure fat gain?
If someone gains weight after Lipodissolve, it will deposit at the initial places only unlike Liposuction where the deposition can take place even at those areas where there was no fat initially
Any side effects?
No significant side effects have been recorded till date for both the procedures. However, the look one gets after using either of the procedure varies.
While Liposuction leaves loose skin after fat removal, Lipodissolve gives a more natural appearance after the fat reduction
The average downtime for Liposuction is about three weeks. While usual activities can be resumed after seven to ten days, strenuous activities are advised to be undertaken after three weeks only.
For Lipodissolve, the procedure lasts for 30 minutes after which you are good to go!
Hope this helped and if considering any, you would be able to select a procedure better!
