Laser Hair Reduction is the process in which a Laser beam is targeted at the hair follicles to destroy them in order to hinder the hair growth there. Laser Hair Removal involves specially approved Lasers whose type, intensity and wavelength vary with the nature of the skin of the person to be treated.
A concentrated beam of light is aimed at hair. The light is absorbed by the pigment, which damages the follicle enough to retard future growth. Lasers can remove hair for anywhere for durations ranging from several months to years, as the results differ widely from person to person.
Laser hair removal is performed with the help of different kind of lasers for the treatment. The major ones are ND Yag Laser, Diode Laser, IPL and Revlite. These lasers are approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for hair reduction. The laser interacts with the pigment in the hair to produce heat. During this procedure, we pass an intense beam of light through the skin at the root of the hair. As a result, the dark hair becomes hot enough to destroy the cell which produces hair. If the light is intense enough, it will destroy the hair follicle to an extent where it can no longer produce hair at all.
This is a globally approved and accepted technology to remove hairs without any pain or discernible side effects. Lasers have been used in medical procedures for more than 15 years and no any long term side effects have been reported yet.
Kosmoderma uses 4 different types of Lasers for the Laser Hair Removal procedure depending upon the skin type. These Laser types will be discussed in the FAQ section.
The usual procedural steps involve the following:
Several variables push PRP pricing up or down. Understanding them helps you evaluate a quote rather than just react to a number.
To see best results please stick to the time duration between 2 sessions as suggested by the doctor.
If you experience any discomfort, erythema or itching on treated areas please contact the clinic immediately and our team will be happy to help you.
Chest hair has been a usual concern for men. Especially with the changed definition of “Macho” being shifted to hair free chests and trimmed beards, the importance Laser Hair Removal has assumed over time has shot through the roof.
We understand that waxing is not an option with the amount of hair a man usually has and that using a razor is too tedious a task if done on daily basis.
Hence, Kosmoderma has dedicated Laser Hair Reduction plans for chest hair as well as for Beard Shaping. The chest hair removal uses the same procedure as the usual Laser Hair Reduction process, however, Beard Shaping uses a specialized US-FDA approved Laser.
More on the same is given in the following section.
Kosmoderma doesn’t quote a flat number over the phone, because doing so before a consultation means guessing at your protocol and session count. A dermatologist evaluates your hair loss pattern or skin concern first. From there, they build a treatment plan with a transparent, itemized cost breakdown.
At Kosmoderma we have four different technologies to target the types of hair on different skin tones ensuring that we have a solution for all the skin types. These four Laser technologies are:
As an additional but important bit of information- all of these lasers are US-FDA and European CE Approved.
Yes, totally. The equipments are US-FDA and European CE approved and also the dermatologists and the therapists are well trained. Thorough examination and test patches before the procedure administration further add to the safety.
The hair is not to be removed from your skin during treatment as the old, dead hair (the hair cast) has to work its way out. The hair cast (the treated hair which falls out by itself) often appears to be growing hair for up to two weeks after treatment, after which it will fall out. You can remove the hair cast by shaving, trimming or depilatory cream. Waxing and plucking are not acceptable methods of removing the hair between treatments.
Not necessarily. Some clinics offer packages that are all-inclusive, while others will charge for implants, garments, or consumables separately. It is always best to ask for a breakdown of the costs before you book.
At least two – the first consultation will give you an idea of the options for treatment, and the second consultation will confirm the costs and procedures for recovery and aftercare support.
Not necessarily. A cheaper clinic may be passing on limited technology, unseasoned staff, or not mentioning their exclusions in the initial quote. It is important to always check the surgeon’s expertise, the clinic’s safety protocols, and the results of previous before and afters when making your decision.
